Emergency Sandhill Rescue Update

November 09, 2017

Thank you for your support of our Emergency Sandhill Rescue in Lake County!  We rescued more than 4,800 plants during the rescue that ended November 1, 2017.  The plants are currently hardening-off at the nursery of one of our amazing partners Green Isle Gardens who is also propagating seeds and cuttings collected from the rescue site.  In all, 121 species of plants were represented in the rescue, with plants, seeds and cuttings collected.  We also rescued and relocated American Giant Millipedes (Narceus americanus) to conservation sites managed by our partners Oakland Nature Preserve and Lake Louisa State Park.
